The Rest Day

Published by Sean under Life Diaries

Yesterdays drive from Bozeman to Spokane was long and both Jordan and I were pretty tired, especially when you consider coming after the long day at Yellowstone. The hotel in Spokane looked nice so I decided to book an extra day here so we could take it easy and get some rest. The forecast for today was pretty hot so we set out right after getting some breakfast into Jordan. We left for a walk through Riverfront Park in downtown in search of dad’s morning coffee, and found an amusement park. Our day of rest turned into another day of excitement from gondola rides to Imax, to the spinny rides that pretty much wrecked me! In truth the spinny rides came before the Imax movie and I banned Jordan from rides that required any adult accompanyment after we went on the “SIZZLER”, however I was still feeling pretty rough as the day got hotter. I needed that air conditioned theatre seat to aid in my recovery. One should also note that when you are trying to recover from vertigo, Imax is not reccomended. I am writing this post on my iPhone while lying on my bed trying to recover a little bit while I irresponsibly leave Jordan to play on his computer.

Well I did get a pretty good cup of coffee.

Yellowstone National Park Day!

Published by Sean under Life Diaries

Today Jordan and I drove around Yellowstone National Park, we left early and its a good thing too!
It was a great day, not because of anything that we did that thrilled me, but today Jordan reached a height of joy in his life that is unthinkable to most of us.
Do you know how many geysers there are in Yellowstone? I have no idea but there are a lot… more than I can count… and today we saw them all! We could not drive by a hint of steam without Jordan’s eagle eyes locking on followed quickly by “THERE’S A GEYSER!” One of the world’s largest volcano systems, the Yellowstone Caldera lies beneath most of the park and generates an enormous amount of geothermal activity such as geysers, boiling mud cauldrons, hot springs and others. We hear about the most famous of such (old Faithful) but there are really many wonders of the park. Jordan’s mind was filled with those wonders and many many miles were put on our shoes in the process.

I’m tired, good night.

Done with Lewis and Clark Caverns

Published by Sean under Life Diaries

Jordan and I walked through Lewis and Clark caverns, named after the famous explorers… you guessed it… Lewis and Clark though they both died long before the caverns were even discovered.  It was kind of dark in there so I don’t think my pictures were very good, I’ll sift through them later. The hike was about two hours long and Jordan and I had lots of fun! Tomorrow is our trip to Yellowstone National Park with Old Faithful as the main attraction.

The Men on Holidays

Published by Sean under Life Diaries

Yesterday Jordan and I left Calgary on a short vacation. We spent our first night in Great Falls Montana where the highlight was the pool at the Holiday Inn. Today we will leave for Lewis and Clark Caverns but Jordans ultimate destination is Old Faithful. We forgot to pack a comb but on a guys vacation that doesn’t seem to be a problem.

5 month update

Published by Linda under Life Diaries

Well, not much to say, other than we are continually thankful for our kids health and growth. Jordan is entering grade 2 and the twins just turned 5 months old. Cam weighs just over 17 pounds, and Erica, 15.5. I’m wondering how long they will be in their car seats, hopefully the pace slows, my arms are tired! They are hitting the standard milestones, rolling over, varied vocalizations, finding their toes, reaching for toys, and they love to laugh! Many thanks to all the folks who have made an effort to come visit and meet our newest family members, it means a lot to us.Escape in progress, will he make it?
